Turning Muslim in Texas

George W Bush may be backed by Christian fundamentalists but in his home state of Texas, Islam is the latest big draw. Eric was a Baptist preacher before he became a Muslim 14 years ago. Now he prays five times a day – even in the middle of watching a football game. His wife, Karen, also a convert, is covered from head to toe in the traditional Muslim Clothes. Islam, says Eric, ‘is everything I wanted Christianty to be’. His mother has found it hard to come to terms with her son’s conversion and believes he will return to the Christan faith: ‘Then he will be a dynamic preacher.’ Eric says: ‘Maybe some day she’ll embrace Islam.’

The Wonderful Mine

Allah, the Exalted in might says “Glory to God, Who created In pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge” [36:36]. The prophet Mohammed (PBUH) says
Verily, Allah created Adam from a handful which He caught from all parts of the earth, therefore, the children of Adam came in correspondence to the whole earth, among them is the red, the white, the black & others in between, and the mild, the sad, the bad and good” [Refer to Sahih] however, now the analyses of human body revealed that it is formed from the same components of earth such as water, sugaries, proteins, oil, vitamins, hormones chlorine, silver, phosphorus, lime, potassium, sodium, iron, copper, iodine & other minerals. All these minerals together form various parts of human body. They are formed in human body according to fixed, estable and accurate proportions. Only Allah the creator knows the secret of how they come together and perform such a task. It was found that if the minerals which enter into the formation of human body are extracted & reformed, it will give us the following items: a box of chalk, a match box, a small nail, a handful of salt and some other valueless materials. However, the monitory value of all these items does not exceed ten Reyals. Can it believed that the monitory value of large part of human bodies does not exceed Rayals? Then, it means that man’s clothes or his watch is more valuable then him!! Isn’t it? Then, what is the real value of Man? The value of many universals which enter into the process of human creation is equal to nothing, then, the real value of Man is after the process of the formation of human body. Some societies made man like a machine. To compare Man with machine is to devalue him. A thing must be compared with another thing similar to it. Otherwise a sheep or a camel would be valuable then a human being. But Islam gave Man an exalted status & elevated him above our materialistic parameters. The evidence for this is that Quran says “We have honored the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure, and conferred on them special favors, above a great part of Our Creation” [17:70] Another Aaya from Quran says “It is we who created you and gave you shape, then we bade the angels Bow down to Adam, and they Bowed down, not so Iblees, He refused to be of those who bow down. (God) said: what prevented you thee from bowing down when I commanded thee? He said: “I am better then he: thou aids create me from fire and him from clay”. Therefore, we have to respect man because Allah made angels to bow down to him. Allah honored man therefore we should not humiliate human beings. Source: “Don’t you see into yourselves? Questions from a confused Christian

Question:

I read in the newspaper that 15% of the Koran is about Jesus Christ; and I also read in the English version of Koran that Mohammad believe in Christ, Abraham, The prophets and their writings which preceded Koran. If so, why does the Koran accept some doctrines of the bible, like the miracles of Christ, his sinlessness, being a prophet, etc. and contradict many of its doctrines like the deity of Christ as written in Isa.9:6 & John 1:1, 3:16, and the atonement both in the old and new testaments? If the Koran is without error, why are there sects in Islam namely, shuhite& shiite respectively? Why does the Koran allows polygamy, while the Bible is against it as written in Gen. 2:24 & Matt. 19:5 ? My soul needs THE TRUTH.
Answer: Praise be to Allaah.
Firstly: Allaah often mentions the Messiah ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary) in His Book the Qur’aan for a number of reasons, including the following:
1. He is one of His Prophets, indeed he is one of the Messengers of strong will whom He sent to His creation and His slaves. It is obligatory to believe in him as in all the other Prophets, as enjoined by Allaah in the verse (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allaah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibraaheem (Abraham), Ismaa’eel (Ishmael), Ishaaq (Isaac), Ya’qoob (Jacob), and to Al-Asbaat [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya’qoob (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Moosa (Moses) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)”

What do they say?

Sarojinidevi Naidu's Testimony:
"Sense of justice is one of the most wonderful ideals of Islam, because as I read in the Qur'an I find those dynamic principles of life, not mystic but practical ethics for the daily conduct of life suited to the whole world."

Refrence : Lectures on "The Ideals of Islam see SPEECHES AND WRITINGS OF SAROJINI NAIDU, Madras, 1918, p. 167.

Bertrand Russel's Testimony:
"Our use of phrase 'The Dark ages' to cover the period from 699 to 1,000 marks our undue concentration on Western Europe..."
"From India to Spain, the brilliant civilization of Islam flourished. What was lost to christendom at this time was not lost to civilization, but quite the contrary..." "To us it seems that West-European civilization is civilization, but this is a narrow view."

Alphonse de LaMartaine's Testimony:
" Never has a man undertaken a work so far beyond human power with so feeble means, for he (Muhammad) had in the conception as well as in the execution of such a great design, no other instrument than himself and no other aid except a handful of men living in a corner of the desert. Finally, never has a man accomplished such a huge and lasting revolution in the world, because in less than two centuries after its appearance, Islam, in faith and in arms, reigned over the whole of Arabia, and conquered, in God's name, Persia Khorasan, Transoxania, Western India, Syria, Egypt, Abyssinia, all the known continent of Northern Africa, numerous islands of the Mediterranean Sea, Spain, and part of Gaul."

"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astonishing results are the three criteria of a human genius, who could dare compare any great man in history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws, and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples, dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and the souls."

"On the basis of a Book, every letter which has become law, he created a spiritual nationality which blend together peoples of every tongue and race. He has left the indelible characteristic of this Muslim nationality the hatred of false gods and the passion for the One and Immaterial God. This avenging patriotism against the profanation of Heaven formed the virtue of the followers of Muhammad; the conquest of one-third the earth to the dogma was his miracle; or rather it was not the miracle of man but that of reason.

"The idea of the unity of God, proclaimed amidst the exhaustion of the fabulous theogonies, was in itself such a miracle that upon it's utterance from his lips it destroyed all the ancient temples of idols and set on fire one-third of the world. His life, his meditations, his heroic revelings against the superstitions of his country, and his boldness in defying the furies of idolatry, his firmness in enduring them for fifteen years in Mecca, his acceptance of the role of public scorn and almost of being a victim of his fellow countrymen: all these and finally, his flight his incessant preaching, his wars against odds, his faith in his success and his superhuman security in misfortune, his forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was twofold the unity of God and the immateriality of God: the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with words.

Michael H. Hart's Testimony:
"My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels."

"Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive."

John William Draper's Testimony:

"Four years after the death of Justinian, A.D. 569, was born at Makkah, in Arabia the man who, of all men exerciesed the greatest influence upon the human race .. MUHAMMAD .. "

Herbert George Wells' Testimony:

"The Islamic teachings have left great traditions for equitable and gentle dealings and behavior, and inspire people with nobility and tolerance. These are human teachings of the highest order and at the same time practicable. These teachings brought into existence a society in which hard-heartedness and collective oppression and injustice were the least as compared with all other societies preceding it....Islam is replete with gentleness, courtesy, and fraternity."

Carly Fiorina's Testimony:

"The technology industry would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians"
In one of her lectures, Carly Fiorina, the CEO of Hewlett-Packard, said: " I’ll end by telling a story. There was once a civilization that was the greatest in the world.
It was able to create a continental super-state that stretched from ocean to ocean, and from northern climes to tropics and deserts. Within its dominion lived hundreds of millions of people, of different creeds and ethnic origins.
One of its languages became the universal language of much of the world, the bridge between the peoples of a hundred lands. Its armies were made up of people of many nationalities, and its military protection allowed a degree of peace and prosperity that had never been known. The reach of this civilization’s commerce extended from Latin America to China, and everywhere in between.
And this civilization was driven more than anything, by invention. Its architects designed buildings that defied gravity. Its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption. Its doctors examined the human body, and found new cures for disease. Its astronomers looked into the heavens, named the stars, and paved the way for space travel and exploration.
Its writers created thousands of stories. Stories of courage, romance and magic. Its poets wrote of love, when others before them were too steeped in fear to think of such things.
When other nations were afraid of ideas, this civilization thrived on them, and kept them alive. When censors threatened to wipe out knowledge from past civilizations, this civilization kept the knowledge alive, and passed it on to others.
While modern Western civilization shares many of these traits, the civilization I’m talking about was the Islamic world from the year 800 to 1600, which included the Ottoman Empire and the courts of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, and enlightened rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent.
Although we are often unaware of our indebtedness to this other civilization, its gifts are very much a part of our heritage. The technology industry would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians."

(تنبيه: توجد خلفية مسيقية بالمادة)
Have you ever thought that you were nothing before you came into this world ... and how you assumed your present form after being no larger than a grain of salt?People must consider the reasons behind the creation of all events they may encounter. We call on you to think deeply, as you are required to do.
